One of the good things I like being a NPA aka No Permanent Address (grabe ang tagal na ng code na yun!) is being able to meet new people. I have set of friends in Caloocan, Las Pinas, Baguio, Makati and now Los Banos (yihee to my gs friends :D ). and when I say friends, I say FRIENDS!

Sabi ko sa sarili ko, hindi lang sa school related stuff mauubos ang oras ko.Ok fine, mas maraming oras for school stuff pero sabi ko I WILL MAKE TIME FOR FRIENDS. Reason why I had that bingo day with my highschool friends, nag-effort na magdala ng buko pie sa aking former officemates, nagpakasaya sa eat all you can merienda with neyko's set of friends,  dagdag pa dito ang aking date with my new girlfriends :D

Dati mga officemates ko lang sila. Now I consider them to be one of the closest ones. 

Meet Jenny and Dianne. 

Back when I was working in the bank, I call my closest buds in the office kapatid. Dianne, or Dah-yen as I call her, and I belong to this clique in our department (grabe ano to highschool?!), group of 6. After a year of closeness, four of our friends resigned and Dayen was transferred to another department. Dahil kaming dalawa na lang ang natira, mas lalo kaming naging close. Lalo na, pwede kaming magreklamo ng tungkol sa trabaho nang hindi lumalabas sa mga sarili naming department. Hehe J

Remember my glimpses post? Ma'am Jenny or MJ was my former immediate supervisor. MJ had her own set of friends when I started working for the bank, then she became my immediate supervisor for quite some time reason why we were not close to start with, and also because I spend more of my break time with Dahyen and other kapatids. We became close when Dahyen was transferred.

These girls are the sisters that I never had - MJ as my long lost Ate and Dahyen as my bagets sister (wow, bongga lang kapatid!)

These girls were my foundation of strength during my last year at work. I was going crazy about work and career choices at silang dalawa ang nagpapakalma sa praning kong mundo. When it was my time to leave, silang dalawa naman ang madalas magkachikahan. J

Si Dahyen ang huling kasama ko sa huling araw ko sa opisina.


Dati, kaya kami magkakasama ay dahil sa trabaho. Ngayon, kahit walang "bank", we are connected in ways true friends are. Hmm, tama ba?J

And on my promise to make time for friends. We met for lunch in Chocolate Kiss Cafe (again, yehey!)

Solid Thomasian si MJ kaya kahit ilang taon na ang nakalipas, bumabalik balik sya sa USTe. Believe me. There were times when I went with her in USTe for foodtrips. On the other hand, di pa nakakatungtong si MJ ng Diliman (or any UP campus for that matter) kaya naman now it's my time to share with her a piece of UP. Si Dahyen naman, even from PUP, she's familiar with the Diliman as she is familiar with Quezon City. Parehas kong kaladkarin si Dahyen. Hehe.


I really wish I could bring them to UP Baguio or Los Banos pero dahil low budget ako, a taste of UPD na lang muna. Liz and I love Chocolate Kiss Cafe at hindi namin pinapalagpas ang opportunity to go there everytime we are in Diliman. Sharing foodie places to my girlfriends is my way of making time for them. J

Hehe. Birthday ni MJ last January 2 while parehas kong Pisces si Dahyen, March 3. For the past 5 years, I have quite an idea how these girls spend their birthdays. Alam kong hindi sila kume-cake moment kaya naisip kong gawin sa kanila un. Sobrang family oriented ang dalawang ito, hardworking pa. They deserve that moment, yung pwedeng maging bata at mag-wish J True enough, nagulat si Dahyen at MJ nang ilabas ko ang mga pasabog kong collier! Ang akala nila that day was to celebrate my birthday pero sabi ko hindi dahil tapos na ako magwish. In the words of Dahyen: Natouch naman ako kapatid. Sabi ko: You deserve it kaya no, kaya enjoy!J

Syempre puro chika, laughter and reklamo sa buhay ang late lunch na yun. Masayang masaya naman. Pagkatapos ng limang basong iced tea (each), next on the itinerary na kami. Bumisita sa Monasteryo de Sta Clara sa may Katipunan. One jeepers creepers ride from UPD ang monasteryo ni St. Claire kaya saktong sakto lang.

SIDE BAR: Ako ang nag-aya sa kanila na pumunta kami kay Sta Clara dahil 1. Di pa ako nakakapunta doon. at 2. Gusto ko sana humiling kay Sta Clara. Hihilingin ko sana kay Sta Clara na bigyan nya na ako at ang mga problema ko ng divine intervention (yez I am that desperate) pero pagdating ko dun e parang nahiya naman ako dahil unang bisita ko palang sa kanya e humiling na kaagad ako. Kaya kinamusta ko muna sya, nagbigay pugay sa kanya dahil ang dami palang nagpupunta doon para magsimba. Tapos dun ko lang sinabi sa kanya yung wish ko na may kasamang hiya factor.

Seeing my 2 new girlfriends outside the workplace reminded me of what ChichaJo said in her blog:

"There are the new ones who you’ve connected with in recent times, bonding immediately over common passions and beliefs.  People who may have come from far afield of you, whose paths you may not have had the pleasure of crossing but for a shrewd twist of fate and a shared love for gustatory indulgence, getting lost amidst books, Finnish forest creatures, or cheesy movie lines.  Hang on to these ones – they will keep your passions fresh and your horizons ever-expanding"

So true. Hanggang ngayon, iniisip ko parin kung bakit ako nagtrabaho sa isang bangko at bakit ako tumagal ng limang taon. Well I guess, I one answer would be to be friends with people who I share my passion for Carpe Diem.
