the one with weekends with friends

Everyday is a special day. But some days are meant to be shared. Gets?

I know I am the laziest blogger alive. Hence, I don't want to be called one. I would just like  to share 2 important things that happened to me.

Run yeye run!

I try to join a fun run once a year. Being a purita student, I could not afford fun runs that have expensive registration fees. Good thing there was the Milo Marathon where reg fee for students are 50php only. Grabbed the opportunity and asked friends to come. But it was just me and Shei who ran that day. It happened last July 29.

It was a 5k run. It was my first time to run a 5 km run. Moks advised me to "train" weeks before the fun run so that my body be somehow prepared. Well my only training would be that bike ride with Kea and Aya and few hours of running with Liz and Itog around Philamlife Village.

It was a good decision to run with Shei as she has experience with serious running (is there such a thing? serious running?! Invented another term again..)

Being one of the nicest people I know, instead of finishing the race ahead of me, she ran at my pace as well. Well she doesn't want me to stop in the middle of the run as this would be bad for my body. She is sweet like that.

We were there around 615am. Before we head to the starting line we gulped some Milo to give us a little jolt getting out of our sleepy state. And took the opportunity to take photos as we may not have the time (and energy) after the race..

It was fun. People from different walks of life participated. I am happy that I discovered another thing that Shei and I can share. It was exciting as when we reached the 3km mark it started to rain! Now I know the feeling of those racers who run freely under the rain!

But this one is a sad scene..

There were lots of plastic cups in this water station. This is very bad. I mean what where the hydrating sponsors were thinking?! Plastic cups?! They know that this event had almost 20,00 runners this year in Manila leg alone right?

Another sad thing is that the runners DON'T CARE! Shei and I were disgusted. We were thirsty when we reached this station but decided not to drink as we do not want to be a part of this mistake. #NakakawalangGana.

Too bad, I posted this late. I could have posted it in Facebook hoping that it could go viral and making people realize that the funrun may have helped children for new shoes (main advocacy of the race) but look what people have done to Mother Earth.

Now I am having second thoughts of running for Milo next year. Next time, I should think which fun run to participate in.

I love Japanese food.. especially when it's free

Weekend following the fun run with Shei, i joined Neighbor, Kevin and my new friend Renzie in a Japanese Buffet in Midas Hotel's Yanagi.

Table setting

This was a deal we got in Metrodeal, for 399, you can enjoy unlimited Japanese food.  Neighbor and Kevin treated me and paid for my temporary Japanese heaven. The three of us have this love for Japanese food and I am happy I know people who enjoy the same cuisine as not all of my friends are fond of eating the sushi and sashimi Japanese food.

While waiting for Renzie to arrive. Neighbor and Kevin, people and their gaadgets.. Hehe..
That's better - these happy smiles are expecting good food!
My plate or plates I should say..
I was not able to get a photo of the lots of Ebi Tempuras that we had since we were all busy eating and chatting and eating.. The tempura was not in the buffett table but was brought to the table upon requests.

My verdict? The food tastes good but nothing extraordinary. I was looking forward to stuffing myself with different sushis and sashimis but the choices are somehow limited. Well, what do you expect in a 399php value? But I did enjoy the Ebi tempura. Not soggy and not the fastfood type.

This kind of buffet would be perfect for night caps and meetings.. I think..

Happy but somehow satisfied faces..
You might notice that there were no other customers in this photo. We were the last ones to leave the resto as we want to "sulit" what we (or in this case, Neighbor and Kevin) paid for.

Would definitely go out with these guys again for another round of sushi..

Would definitely run with Shei again..

Would definitely go out with friends again on weekends..

merci merci mes amis
